STAR PREVIEW Burton Albion v Nottingham Forest

first_imgThe EFL Cup returns to give punters many tricky ties and amongst the most difficult to work out is Burton Albion against Nottingham Forest. One of the Football League’s biggest success stories in recent years with two promotions despite only reaching the Football League a decade ago, Albion are aiming to return to the Championship but have struggled for consistency, losing seven games so far – as they currently lie in 16th.Nottingham Forest have eyes on a big prize too – that being the hallowed land of the Premier League – but they look to be closer to achieving their target as they are seventh in the Championship just six points off leaders Sheffield United in an unbelievably cramped division. They have been through a tough run of fixtures lately but battled extremely hard to take a point from Elland Road when Leeds had 71% of the possession, took 18 shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners in a 1-1 draw when Kemar Roofe controversially scored with his arm. Both clubs have been strong in the EFL Cup, with Forest beating Newcastle 3-1 and then taking down Stoke 3-2, both of those wins coming at the City Ground.Albion have also taken a couple of scalps, beating Aston Villa and then taking the not insignificant scalp of Burnley in the previous round. It’s interesting to note that since those successes both of these sides have struggled, although against some of the strongest opposition in their respective leagues, but there’s a feeling that this game is going to be evenly matched, more so than the prices suggest.Burton Albion v Nottingham ForestCarabao Cup, 19:45Live on Sky Sports Football HDHEAD TO HEAD RECORD(Maximum 10 matches)FEB 2018 CHAMPIONSHIP Burton 0-0 Nottingham ForestOCT 2017 CHAMPIONSHIP Nottingham Forest 2-0 BurtonMAR 2017 CHAMPIONSHIP Burton 1-0 Nottingham ForestAUG 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP Nottingham Forest 4-3 BurtonBoth sides could make a number of changes – with Forest likely to make more given their impending clash with leaders Sheffield United – and the 6/5 on them doesn’t make a great deal of appeal. The 4/5 on both teams scoring might be the bet here, as that has occurred in all four of the EFL games between the two so far.RECOMMENDED BETS (scale of 1-100 points)BACK BTTS 5 points at 4/5 with PROFIT/LOSS SINCE JAN 1 2017: PROFIT 173.97 points(not including Premier League ante-post)last_img read more
