Then his photo with the words “Attention, traitor!” was circulated amid mounting tension a few days later. This is not the first time the 31-year-old journalist has been threatened. The news site he has been running for the past 10 years, Novosti Donbasa, covers regional corruption, power struggles and abuse of authority. Since the summer of 2013, he has been using his Donetskaya Pravda project to go further, investigating local government spending, public bidding and conflicts of public and private interest. Shortly after the project was launched, he and his colleagues began being the targets of close surveillance, threats and strange warnings – incidents not unlike what he experienced him 2011, when his apartment was set on fire by someone who blocked his exit and left a wreath at the door. first_imgLatest Stories Retirement reception planned for Randy Hale The first two Pike County district conservationists worked about a year each and the next two worked 12 years each.After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in agriculture, Hale was hired as an assistant district conservationist in Cullman in 1974.He worked there a year before moving to Jasper where he was in charge of the office for a year and a half before moving to Pike County.
