A memorial service took place July 7 at the Hoboken Community Church, Hoboken, for Carroll N. Jones III, 72, of Hoboken. He passed away June 22 surrounded by his friends at the Hamilton Park Health Care Center in Jersey City. Carroll was born in California and lived in New Providence, Hoboken, and Jersey City. He will be sorely missed by all his closest friends. His life-long passion was in the arts. His own talent as a visual artist was dazzling. He was a realist painter, printmaker, and master at rendering images with graphite. Carroll was a meticulous artist with great evocative capacity. He began as a portraitist but soon produced beautiful oil landscapes and cityscapes, including stunning pictures of storefront windows that show an outward vision, suggesting inner life as well. His loving renderings of his beloved cats are filled with charm and personality.Carroll was predeceased by both of his parents, Carroll Jones II, and Lucy (nee Barnes). He is survived by his very close dedicated friend Merry Naddeo, childhood friend, John Carlini, and his cherished cat, Callie.Services arranged by the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken.
